It was most likely cut for being too goofy for the movie, though some have said the scene was made for the trailer so as not to spoil the Gingy cameo for theatergoers.

DreamWorks released the first trailer for Puss in Boots: The Last Wish back in March 2022, giving fans a first look at Antonio Banderas back as the voice of the feline swashbuckler. Mid-fight, Puss sees the hooded wolf again and runs off in fear, distracting Kitty and enabling Goldi to obtain the map. He is on a quest to put off the evil hour by finding the legendary wishing star which once fell to earth like a comet; he and Kitty join forces with the perky mutt Perrito (Harvey Guillén), but must battle other fairytale/nursery-rhyme honchos, including a Cockney crime family in the form of Goldilocks (Florence Pugh) and the Three Bears (Olivia Colman, Ray Winstone and Samson Kayo), and “Big” Jack Horner (John Mulaney) – to whom all the funny lines are given. Getting those lives back will send Puss in Boots into the Black Forest to find the mythical Wishing Star on his grandest quest yet.
